Recipes

Recipes on the Aussie Pumpkin Patch are made with natural forms of sweetener after we discovered that at least three of the four of us had high sugar sensitivities. Most often we use a combination of honey, & stevia. However, we also like to use maple syrup, brown rice syrup, fruit juice, and coconut sugar just to name a few.


Anzac Biscuits
Traditional Anzac biscuits made sweetened with stevia, brown rice syrup and date puree. Whip up a batch for Anzac day, or any other day.


Animal Crackers
Animal crackers made with agave syrup, honey, or maple syrup. You can make a whole zoo of animals!


Banana Bread
Homemade banana bread sweetened with stevia and a pinch of maple syrup. Our brood likes to eat it hot with a scoop of ice cream.


Black Forest Cake
4 Layer Black forest cake covered in cream and cherries and topped with homemade chocolate shavings. This cake is a big crowd pleaser and completely sugar free if you use fresh or home canned cherries.


Candy Corn Popcorn
To help add a little more Christmas Cheer to our afternoon snack I melted a couple of candy canes and mixed them into our popcorn. Not only was it tasty, but it had a lovely pink shade to it too. You'd need to use sugar-free candy canes to ensure this one's sugar free.


Cherry Pie
Homemade Cherry pie from fresh or bottled cherries sweetened with stevia and honey. Wonderful warm or cold. Just don't stick candles into hot pie..


CheeseCake
A scrumptious cheesecake recipe sweetened with stevia and honey. Includes a recipe for a graham cracker crust sweetened with fruit juice.


Homemade Chocolate
Beautiful Dark chocolate made from scratch with 0 cane sugar product. It can be sweetened with honey, stevia, coconut sugar, maple syrup, or even agave. This stuff is amazing, and if you have chocolate molds you can shape it anyway you want. It disappears quickly!


Chocolate Cake
Chocolate cake sweetened with honey. This is a very moist cake and our typical standby for birthday cakes. Includes a recipe for a yummy chocolate frosting too.


Chocolate Chip Cookies
Scrumptious chocolate chip cookies made with coconut sugar, coconut oil, and grain sweetened chocolate chips. These don't seem to last long around here


Chocolate Slice
Sugar free chocolate slice. It takes a little more time to make, but I promise it's very worth it. Be forewarned though you'll have to keep it under lock and key if you attempt to give any away.My gang plows through this special treat rather quickly, and I've been told it tastes exactly the same as the sugar laden stuff too.


Classic Cornbread
Stevia sweetened cornbread! This recipe would also be terrific sweetened with honey or maple syrup. Especially yummy straight out of the oven!


Cocoa
Creamy homemade hot cocoa sweetened with stevia and a pinch of honey. A warm and cozy treat on a cold day


Coconut Sugar Frosting
Butter Cream style frosting made with coconut sugar that's ground to a fine powder. We use it to decorate cakes, oreo filling, frosting cookies, etc. The link will also take you to instructions on how we built that ever so clever Potato head Cake. He was certainly the main attraction at the party too!


Crunchy Coleslaw
Colorful crunchy coleslaw great in the winter or the summer topped with a homemade dressing that's sweetened with stevia.


Froggie Cupcakes
Cute froggie cupcakes with cooked honey frosting. You'll have to eat them quickly before they hop away. Topped with a honey frosting


Fruit Leather
Yummy fruit leather made from 100% fruit. No sweetener needed. Works with any fruit. Dry in the oven or in the sun.


G-Force Cookies
Adorable guinea pig shaped cookies made with coconut sugar and grain sweetened chocolate chip eyes.


Graham Crackers
Homemade Graham crackers that are sweetened with honey. The trick to making these crunchy is rolling them thin.


Granola
Delicious homemade granola made to your taste. Sweetened with maple syrup, date puree, stevia, & molasses .


Homemade Oreos
Delicious homemade oreos made with coconut sugar and coconut oil. Fair warning these won't last long if your gang likes them as much as mine did!


Honey Donuts
An old and delicious recipe for honey donuts. Yeasted donuts with cinnamon and spices. These also freeze really well too.


Ice cream
Super simple homemade honey ice cream. Add vanilla or mint or cherries.. The trick to making this light and cream is only filling your ice cream maker half full leaving room for the mixture to fluff and expand.


Patriotic Cupcakes
Yummy chocolate cupcakes topped with red, white, & blue.


Macaroni & Cheese
Tasty creamy homemade macaroni and cheese. Great comfort food on a cold winters night.


Microwave Popcorn
Easy homemade microwave popcorn in 3 minutes. All you need is a paper bag, popcorn, and oil.


Honey Marshmallows
Marshmallows made with 3 ingredients. These are sweetened with honey or maple syrup.


Molasses Cookies
Chewy molasses cookies sweetened with coconut sugar. These cookies freeze well, and tend to disappear quickly.


New Year Pancakes

Oat & Flax Crackers
Yummy healthy flaxseed and oatmeal crackers. They go great with anything you can put on a cracker!


Scented Ornaments
Every year since the boys have been born we've made these fun ornaments in the shape of their hands. Leftover dough is use with cookie cutters.


Whole Wheat Bread
Yummy 100% whole wheat bread sweetened with honey. This recipe can be made in 1 or 2 days, and freezes beautifully.
